The Goldring 2500 cartridge is the highest model in Goldring’s 2000 range for use on the highest quality turntables, a fine moving magnet cartridge featuring a tapered cantilever with 2 SD diamond stylus that gives a smooth and detailed sound. The Goldring 2500 also features a metal body that offers stronger bass performance than a plastic design and provides a tight fit to your tonearm.
The Goldring 2500 is one of the most popular phono cartridges in their range & an alternative to the classic Goldring 1042, that benefits from modern design techniques.
Gold plated connector pins eliminate corrosion and minimise contact resistance. As with all of the Goldring 2000 series this cartridge has Super Permalloy poleshoes to provide high sensitivity, while a super Permalloy shield reduces noise pickup. The Permalloy armature tube reduces mass, and the sumarium cobalt magnet provides a higher output.
This cartridge is moving magnet (MM) which can be used with most “phono” or “turntable” inputs on your hi-fi amplifier. If you do not have a “phono” or “turntable” input, you will need a phono stage in between your amplifier and turntable. A phono stage boosts the lower signal from this cartridge for use with a standard input on your amplifier.

Look what the experts said:-
“A well deserved group test winner; give it a listen. A recent addition to Goldring’s range, the 2500 sounds confident and fluid, adopting a mellower feel as bedding down (the process by which a new cartridge wears itself in) progresses. This cartridge held our attention pretty much from the start and, by doing right just about everything required of it, gets top marks.” (What Hi-Fi Magazine)
